Beth helped me develop as a cyclist and a competitor, transforming me from a struggling cat 4 racer into a successful elite-level athlete.
Beth’s approach to training is completely holistic. A year-round periodization program kept me fresh throughout the year—building strength in the fall and winter months and peaking for my targeted events in the summer. This kind of program can only be built with an awareness of the athlete’s mental and physical capacities, attention to the day-to-day freedoms and constraints of the athlete, and an appreciation of the goals of the athlete and how best to realize them. Beth is a coach with the skills and commitment necessary to make this kind of program work, and that's how she was able to bring out my fullest potential…her compassionate approach makes for a unique coaching experience.
Success in bike racing depends on many factors: physiology and training, motivation and perception skills, technical prowess, lifestyle support structure, and opportunity.
Beth's coaching simplifies it for her riders, teaching all aspects of performance and how to succeed in bike racing. Her pursuit of excellence and personal standards has influenced countless riders to achieve their goals - smiling through the hard work.
Beth founded Team Spirit, a 501(c) 3 to support cycling development. The first project filled the gap for collegiate riders needing to develop in the summers between school semesters. In two seasons, we graduated 3 young male riders and 2 young female riders to contracts.
Beth directed an elite men’s team as an early pipeline for a pro men’s team. We graduated 2 riders to eventual contracts while exposing them to national level events.
Beth has guest directed with several international men’s pro teams including teams from Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the U.S. During those stints, we took several podiums and won several in-race competitions, including Best Young Rider and Mountains classification.
Seeing riders on the podium that I’ve helped get there and who are smiling back at me is AWESOME!!! Better than my own victories!
Beth’s passion is to have a positive impact on society utilizing bikes...
as a means to bring awareness and resources to important causes, such as disease research and cures, equal opportunity, and spiritual support. She has worked with charity riders and organizations, human rights organizations, and civic and religious groups to enhance their ride-related work and messages.
Beth’s passion for cycling is to likewise bring resources from outside the sport to grow under-served cycling populations, such as women and kids. By marshaling communities, businesses, and special interests, Beth has assisted in event promotion and preparation, team sponsorship, voiced the economic and societal benefits of cycling, and mobilized groups to mount up together and ride!
